I’m impressed with the benefits of ecotours. These relatively new forms of tourism are managed in order to promote sustainable and scenic views of landscapes or natural climates. I wonder if any of the tours I’ve been on are actually considered “ecotours”. Now that I consider it, I’m pretty sure at least some have the characteristics of environmentally friendly ecotours. Those that are currently being promoted elsewhere include the purpose of minimizing impact to the environment while also providing a unique and memorable experience for visitors. It would be rather interesting to actually try living in such a way as to mimic the intentions of ecotourism. Lately I’ve been trying to focus on ways I can help protect the idyllic diversity around me. The other benefits of ecotourism include providing educational opportunities for those on the tour, and possibly even job opportunities for those working in the industry.
